Chambers has appointed Kate Boxall as compliance and health and safety manager at its new prepared fruit division The Fruitery.
Boxall joined the business in April 2019, having previously spent two years as a compliance manager at Fruition Packing and 18 months in a quality control role at Berry Gardens.
The former Hadlow student, who comes from a fruit-farming family, completed a Certificate in Food Industry Skills apprenticeship course while working. Since finishing her apprenticeship, she has also completed her Level 2 HACCP for Food Manufacturing and Level 3 Supervising Health & Safety in the Workplace.
The newly created position at The Fruitery, reporting into Chambers Group technical director Rupert Carter and The Fruitery’s operation manager Andrée King, will see Boxall tasked with ensuring the business stays on track in relation to health and safety protocols.
Boxall said: “The high-care facility at The Fruitery represents a £2 million investment and The Fruitery is committed to providing a seamless supply of quality prepared fruit year-round, therefore this job is pivotal to the continued success of the business.
"Our customers – multiples and foodservice outlets – demand the very highest standards in terms of the quality and traceability of the product supplied and we need to be confident in our ability to not just meet but exceed these expectations by having in place the tightest compliance control measures across all critical points of our operations.”
