Rothamsted Enterprises Collaborative Hub

Inside the new co-working space

Rothamsted Enterprises has opened a new Collaborative Hub with hotdesking space for businesses across the agriculture, farming, food, science, climate change, innovation, and technology sectors.

Based in Rothamsted Research’s historic Russell building in Harpenden, the hub has been refurbished thanks to various funding from the Hertfordshire Local Enterprise Parnership and the Herts Innovation Quarter. It is now ready to welcome hot-deskers from 17 May.

The red-brick building offers modern office space ranging from 200 sq ft to over 1,200 sq ft, and is part ofHerts IQ, an enterprise zone supporting the growth of agri-tech businesses in Hertfordshire.

Since Rothamsted is part of Herts IQ, office space tenants could enjoy tax relief of up to £55,000.

Enquiries are particularly encouraged from businesses across the agriculture, farming, food, science, climate change, innovation, and technology communities, or those who partner with, support or supply to these sectors.

Nicole Sadd, Rothamsted Enterprises CEO, said: “Our stunning new collaborative hub really is the ideal place for agribusinesses to come and hotdesk.

“Meet with other like-minded businesses and who knows what collaboration and innovation opportunities are around the corner.”

Hotdesking will be available from Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm with facilities including free lockers, free carparking, free tea and coffee and free Wi-Fi, as well as printing facilities and a fully staffed reception.

The campus also offers meetings and event space at Rothamsted Conference Centre, and full social distancing measures will be in place.

Businesses can choose from one-day rental, a monthly package (hotdesking up to eight times a month), or a monthly fixed desk option.

Set up in 2015 as the commercial arm of Rothamsted Research, Rothamsted Enterprises is a collaboration between Rothamsted Research, the Lawes Agricultural Trust and the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC).
