CBI stand at Fruit Logistica

The Centre for the Promotion of Imports from developing countries (CBI) will present suppliers from developing countries at Fruit Logistica 2013, including Colombia, Egypt, Pakistan, Serbia, Guatemala, Ecuador, Peru, Kenya, Thailand and Senegal.

The CBI pavilion will be located in Hall 3.2, Stand C23 as a co-exhibitor of the Holland Fresh Group, according to a press release from the association.

In addition, CBI will support additional companies present at their own country pavilions.

The suppliers set to participate at the Berlin trade fair are actively seeking long-term European partnerships and have been coached for four years by CBI's experienced sector experts.

“These companies can provide new consistent and sustainable sources for a range of fresh produce, including pineapples, bananas, avocados, mangoes, grapes, citrus, beans, peas, herbs and more,” CBI explained.

“Their locations allow them to provide fresh off-season fruits and vegetables to Europe, as well as a wide range of exotics, such as pomegranates, rambutan and mangosteen.”

CBI claims that each grower has invested heavily in the preparation necessary for successful partnerships in Europe, including GlobalGAP certification.

“They have completed a rigorous CBI training programme to meet European market standards for fresh fruits and vegetables,” the organisation explained.

“CBI considers them to be reliable, consistent partners who provide outstanding levels of quality. All 23 companies will continue to be monitored as they explore new markets.”
