Anglia Farmers has posted a sizeable surplus for the year.

Its net surplus for the year increased to £82,400 (up 64 percent) and net assets stood at just over £1million (up 10 percent). This is on a turnover of some £72.2 million, up 23 percent from the previous year.

Group chief executive Clarke Willis said that the company would boost its turnover towards £85 million during the coming year. “We are driving the supply input chain and transforming the way our farmers do their purchasing,” he said.

“Apart from securing the best prices, the service we provide considerably reduces office hours for farmers. Our aims are to deliver excellence in agricultural purchasing and to perform professionally for the benefit of our members.”

The company now has 1,000 full members, farming 350,000 hectares, and 500 associate members.
