A think tank in Canada has slammed organic certification in the country as 'near meaningless' in a new report.

The Frontier Centre for Public Policy examined the system for testing organic products in Canada and found they are not currently systematically tested by food inspection authorities.

In their paper, Canada’s Organic Nightmare, authors Mischa Popoff and Patrick Moore claimed: “Canada’s lax testing standards are making this country susceptible to foreign organic importers, and risk of undermining Canada’s food producers.'
