The Co Armagh retail outlet was established in 1981 in temporary premises. From the start the provisions of fresh, quality produce attracted a growing clientele and in due course the decision was taken to move into a purpose-designed shop.

The family-run business aimed for a unique concept in fresh produce retailing, a destination shopping experience which customers would enjoy. In the face of the arrival in the 1990s of major multinational retailers in Northern Ireland, there was a determination to buck the trend that had seen many other independent retailers go to the wall.

Within a year of opening, however, the new shop was patently was consumers were looking for and today it is once again in contact with the architect to draw up plans for an extension.

The outfit works closely with a number of Northern Ireland producers and runs an active programme of in-store theatre events like tasting weekends.
