Clemenules are set to make a comeback on the shelves at Morrisons this Christmas following a successful debut in December 2005.

The leafed clementines, which are sourced from Spain, are available for four weeks from December 5, priced at £1.49.

Andy Wareham, Morrisons’ citrus buyer, said: “We first introduced The Best Clementines with Leaves to stores in December 2005, as a seasonal line.

“They exceeded all sales expectations, which is why we have decided to sell them again for Christmas 2006.

“The clementines are kept on the tree for longer to ripen and develop a sweeter taste, and are removed with the leaves still attached.”

Wareham added that, as clementines are becoming increasingly popular over the Christmas period, sales are expected to be strong.
