The newly launched CropWorld Congress & Exhibition is keen to welcome fresh produce companies to its London event at ExCel on 1-3 November.

The first event, which will build on more than 30 years of congress events from joint organiser the British Crop Production Council (BCPC), will focus on the business, trade, science and technology of sustainable global food production and was launched in London last week at the Farmers’ Club.

Global food security, climate change, environmental and regulatory factors affecting crop production, the future for genetically modified crops, agrochemicals, fertilisers, seeds and crop nutrients, water utilisation and irrigation are just some of the topics that will be addressed.

The conference will also highlight the role of food retailers and producers, new products, compounds and approaches, the future for post-patent manufacturers, pesticide application and formulation, storage machinery and new technology, together with the policy and politics of crop production.

Michael Oakes, conference editorial director for CropWorld, told freshinfo: “CropWorld will encompass many more issues and food groups than the BCPC Congress has done in the past.”
