The EU has reportedly imposed a five-year minimum price on frozen strawberries from China.
It is thought the move was made primarily to protect jobs in Poland from imports that totaled a fifth of the EU market.
The price floor of €684 punishes Chinese exporters for selling the frozen fruit, which is mostly used in jams and yoghurt, below domestic European prices or below production cost.
