Flower advertising goes national

The first national TV advertising campaign for fresh flowers will begin on September 15. The four-week campaign features the 30- second “Why Wait Buy Your Own” commercial that was unveiled in last year's poster and TV campaign in the Yorkshire and Granada regions.

“This is the first truly national TV campaign the industry has seen ñ if not ever, then for a very long time ñ to persuade the public to buy flowers,” said the Flower Council of Holland's Marcel Jansen.

“Overall we are trying to promote flowers as a regular purchase and not just for special occasions, gifts or emotional reasons. The message is very simple ñ get out there and get yourself some flowers.”
