The Fresh Herbs group has announced that food writer, stylist and television presenter Gizzi Erskine will be fronting its PR campaign this year.

Erskine will be working with the group, who collectively represent 90 per cent of fresh culinary herbs sold in UK supermarkets, as a brand ambassador and will help raise the profile of fresh herbs in the UK.

Following the success of last year’s PR campaign, the Fresh Herbs group, which represents R&G Fresh Herbs, Humber VHB, Lighthorne Herbs, Scotherbs, Swedeponic, Arava and Agrexco, is using Channel 4’s Cook Yourself Thin presenter Erskine to communicate the benefits and simplicity of cooking and eating fresh herbs. The group hopes to appeal to the young professional sector; a key segment that has the potential to grow the category. Erskine will produce simple and easy to use recipes, for media briefings, summer sampling and a media master-class for consumer press.
