Refrigeration specialist Hussmann Europe Ltd has sold its UK service and contracting business to Leicester-based WR Refrigeration Ltd.
The move follows a decision by the company to focus solely on the sales of refrigerated equipment.
Approximately 175 employees are transferring to WR Refrigeration from Hussmann Europe. Hussmann will continue to sell refrigerated equipment and other products from its commercial refrigeration portfolio in the UK and Ireland, and will retain employees related to this activity.
WR Refrigeration, part of the Finland-based Huurre Group Oy, has more than 500 employees and revenues in excess of £60 million.
It has headquarters in Leicester and operates 28 branches throughout the country.
Didier Teirlinck, president of Ingersoll Rand Climate Control Technologies for the European served area said: “We believe that the best option for the company, its customers and employees is to transfer our current service and contracting business to a larger player in the market. By concentrating on sales alone we have the know-how and products to successfully compete in the market place and offer superior value to our customers.”
