Agrexco is due to kick off exports of Super Sweet sweetcorn on20 April with sendings of both conventionally grown and organic produce.
Tidhar Jackson, product manager for sweetcorn at Agrexco, said the season is expected to run until the end of June.
Production stretches along the Syrian-African rift, both to the west and south as far as the Bet Shean valley in the north.
The UK is a leading export market along with Italy, France, Germany, the Netherlands and the Scandinavian countries.
All Agrexco’s sweetcorn producers growing for export are GlobalGAP certified.
