Jaffa bounces into schools competition

Citrus brand Jaffa is inviting primary schools across the UK to get bouncing to win a £1,500 prize in its Jaffa Space Hoppers for Schools competition.

The youngsters have to come up with inventive ways to incorporate Jaffa space hoppers into one of their lessons. The winning school will receive £1,500 towards school facilities and equipment. The two runners up will each receive £500.

The competition is part of Jaffa’s ongoing initiative to get kids active and eating healthily. Marius du Plessis, general manager of Mehadrin, which owns the Jaffa brand said: “We are passionate about supporting the Jaffa brand and encouraging the nation’s children to eat healthily - but we also want to get kids active and exercising. The Jaffa Space Hoppers for Schools competition is a great way to do this. We’re really looking forward to seeing the schools’ exciting ideas for using Jaffa space hoppers in their lessons”.

The competition is open to kids aged seven to 11 at schools throughout the UK that must first register their interest in the competition by visiting the competition website. The first 120 schools to register will each receive an entry pack and 10 space hoppers.

Once the class has decided how it will use the space hoppers, kids need to submit an image of the lesson in action, along with a 300-word description of what they did and why they deserve to win. The closing date for entries is 27 January.
