Marks & Spencer potential buyers line-up

Marks & Spencer has hit the radar screens of interested buyers after announcing poor fourth-quarter trading results. Millionaire BHS owner Phillip Green and US-based venture capital firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts have both expressed an interest in the struggling UK retailer.

Early last year, Green showed interest in the Safeway group while Kohlberg Kravis Roberts, experts in buying undervalued companies and restructuring them, was interested in both Safeway and Sainsbury's in early 2003.
