Redfox has instigated the first fresh produce specific negotiation course aimed at individuals and companies dealing with major retailers.

The course is sold with the promise that clients will see a minimum of four times their return on their investment within 12 weeks or they receive a full refund.

Sam Williams, business development manager at Redfox, said: “We have come to realise that a number of our clients can struggle to achieve their best results with retailers because of a lack of defined negotiation skills within their businesses. Unfortunately, very few of them have been able to put their key individuals/teams through defined courses majoring on negation training in such a specific sector. Research has shown that skilled negotiators out-manoeuvre the other party and get the best ‘deal’ 90 per cent of the time.

“All of the retailers put their buyers through intensive negotiation training whilst the negotiation training deployed by the supply side is minimal. We believe we can change this for the long-term benefit of the supply base through our new fresh produce defined negotiation courses.”

He added: “Our chief training consultant was previously a sales director with a major branded fresh produce business, so knows exactly what the issues are and what the answers need to be to increase that exclusive margin return. We are so confident of the course that we are offering it with a four times return on the investment within 12 weeks or our clients will receive a full refund.”
