Latest advances in science and technology that provide practical help to the UK agri-food industry are the focus of a conference being held on 20 April in Peterborough.

The event includes case studies that illustrate how new technology can be used in the UK. A round-table debate aimed at providing farmers and growers with the opportunity to influence future research is also in the offing.

John Stones, director of the Nuffield Farming Scholarship Trust, said: “The key message the scholars are presenting is that this technology is ready now. It’s not only available, but also already being employed in the UK and other countries to help boost output, reduce inputs as well as open up possibilities in new and novel markets.”

The conference includes ‘New Technology in Action case studies’, presented by past Nuffield Scholars, who will demonstrate how the latest ideas are being put to practical use today
