Royal Mail is issuing 10 fun fruit and vegetable stamps on March 25 to tie in with the launch of the Department of Health's logo for 5-a-day.

The 10 self-adhesive first class stamps will feature some of the most popular fruit and vegetables. But what makes the stamps extra special are the 76 body-building stickers that allow people to create their own personalities.

Fun Fruit & Veg stamps, priced £2.70, are guaranteed to reach a wider audience thanks to Sainsbury's decision to stock them in more than 440 stores nationwide. The stamps are also the first British stamps to feature images which extend outside the stamp frame.

Gavin Macrae, director of Royal Mail stamps and collectibles, said: 'Radical in design, a challenge to produce, and an excellent example of the British sense of the absurd - Fun Fruit & Veg looks set to become another popular stamp issue.

'We are also very excited by Sainsbury's enthusiasm for promoting this product and the increased exposure it will give to special stamps.'
