Barrie was previously responsible for efforts in the Republic of Ireland alone. Following the retirement of Martin McNeill as managing director for Sodexho in Northern Ireland, Barrie has seen his role enlarged.
The catering company says the new position has been created to enable the sharing of best practice and to take full advantage of the many synergies between both operations.
On his appointment, Barrie said: “I am delighted to accept this challenge, to utilise the skills and strengths across the whole of Ireland. Our core strength is our committed people who are dedicated to delivering the highest quality service and I believe we have a bright future ahead.”
