Tesco will be embracing religion this May, with a scheme launched to educate staff about various religions and their festivals, routines and perhaps more importantly, eating habits.

The retailer is issuing religious toolkits throughout its stores, which will include a calender outlining festivals and days of importance for all the UK’s major religions.

At key events, separate leaflets giving further details will be distributed to targeted areas.

Leonie Morris, Tesco head of diversity, said: “It is our aim to ensure that our colleagues and customers feel welcome at Tesco.

“We believe that this calendar will contribute to all of our colleagues and customers being better understood and supported.”
