Tesco incubator

Four plant and veg-based brands have joined the Tesco Incubator Programme in the supermarket's latest intake.

The four brands are plant-based milk Mighty Pea; meat and veg-rich burger outfit Lean and Greens; plant-based baby product sterilizer Nible; and Tenzing, an all plant-based energy drink that has been described as the world's first carbon-negative energy drink.

The four new brands will join ten already on this year’s programme, and benefit from learning events run by Tesco’s product team, help in understanding the needs of customers and using customer insight in developing their brands, and advice on merchandising products more effectively.

They will also build strong relationships with Tesco’s product teams and have the opportunity to share experiences and best practice with other young brands on the programme, according to the supermarket.

Since its launch in 2017, Tesco’s Incubator programme has helped a number of young UK brands find a footing in the industry, with alumni including Brewdog, Fever Tree, Bol, and Deliciously Ella.

Last year's cohort included 'hyper-realistic' plant-based meat alternative brand THIS, as well as Simply Cook and Mara Seaweed.
