Veridian is expanding its processed onion production capacity

The company, part of the Lingarden onion division based near Spalding, Lincolnshire, is also aiming to recruit more onion growers under long-term managed supply contracts.

Managing director Alan Christie said: “Our expansion strategy is based on a policy of focusing on a dependable supply of high quality onions backed by excellent service. We build long-term working relationships with both customers and growers to ensure sustainability for all parties.”

The company also employs its own agronomist to advise growers throughout the entire cultivation process, from soil preparation to harvesting.

Christie adds: “Our total onion portfolio approach means growers benefit from all the advantages of whole crop marketing. Growers can and invest for the future, knowing they have a guaranteed price for their crop.”
