New A$50mn project to give peak industry bodies tailored support to target new markets

The Australian government has launched an A$50mn Accessing New Markets Initiative (ANMI) as part of a commitment to open new and previously overlooked export markets for Australian businesses.

Through ANMI, Australian businesses will get practical, targeted support to identify new partners and customers with the help of the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade).

Austrade will design tailored support for peak industry bodies and their members. Support to Australian exporters will be fast, flexible and targeted, including additional programs such as in-market trade advisors, enhanced offshore events, and new strategic initiatives.

Minister for Don Farrell said the ANMI would help Australian exporters stay ahead of a changing global trade landscape.

“The world is shifting. Trade flows are changing, and global competition is increasing,” said Farrell.

“This is a smart, timely, and forward-looking investment in Australian business. It’s about helping our exporters compete globally and build resilience.”
