Export volumes far exceed early crop expectations reaching almost 146,000 tonnes in first 10 months of 2025/26 selling season
Australian almond export sales appear to be on track to clear out most of the 2025 season’s inventory following the release of the industry’s December sales data.

The Almond Board of Australia’s December Position Report is highlighted by strong export activity, especially into Vietnam, China, Spain and Turkey. While volumes are down compared to last season’s record volume, the industry body said this was to be expected given the reduced crop.
Overall volumes recorded after 10 months of the 2025/26 selling season were just below 146,000 tonnes and have far exceeded early crop expectations on the volume of saleable inventory available.
January and February are traditionally two of the slower sales months due to much lower inventories being available. With this in mind, the body expects the final figure for the season to fall well short of the 2024/25 record 169,000 tonnes but still reach the second biggest on record by a significant margin.
Harvest for the 2026/27 season has just begun and the Almond Board of Australia has reported ongoing strong demand for Australian almonds at trade shows in the UAE and India last month. The industry is expecting to maintain its high output after posting a pre-harvest estimate of 166,891 tonnes.
