The premier event brings together global and local experts to discuss the latest challenges and innovations in fresh produce safety.

Keynote speaker Jim Monaghan, director of the Centre for Crop and Environmental Science at Harper Adams University, will share his insights on the evolving landscape of fresh produce safety gathered from over three decades of pioneering research in food safety, climate resilience, and sustainable agriculture.

The programme will also include comprehensive sessions on the recent STEC recall, analysing the event, the lessons learned and strategies to prevent future occurrences. There will also be various sessions focused on practical tools and methods for risk assessment, as well as discussions on assurance and compliance.

Delegates include a diverse group of professionals such as growers, QA managers, retailers, regulators, and researchers, providing ample opportunity to share ideas, build relationships, and collaborate on advancing fresh produce safety.

In addition to the two-day conference, IFPSS 2025 will also include a Farm to Lab tour hosted on 28 July. Attendees will have the opportunity to visit Barden Farms and the NSW DPIRD’s Central Coast Primary Industries Centre to see firsthand how innovations are securing a safer fresh produce supply chain.
