Riedy takes on new role as the company enters growth phase
Biotechnology company Metagen Australia has promoted Queensland-based agricultural professional Liam Riedy to the position of general manager as it enters its next growth phase.

Riedy’s responsibilities will include overseeing Metagen’s market expansion into key agricultural industries by working with the team to provide innovative solutions to soil health and farm productivity while combating the rising cost of production.
Riedy, who was sales director at Metagen for 18 months prior to his promotion, has more than 20 years’ experience working as an agronomist, consultant and manager across multiple farming businesses in Australia and overseas.
His previous roles include general manager berries at Australian fruit producer, Piñata Farms; farming operations manager and supply chain manager at GSF Fresh in multiple countries; and business manager and senior agronomist at Total Grower Services (a division of Metagen).
Riedy will lead a team of scientists, agronomists and technical support staff strategically located in Australia’s key growing regions.
Metagen is an Australian-owned biotechnology company that formulates advanced biological tools to help horticultural and broadacre growers improve their soil and crops.
It was founded by scientist and agronomist Shane Fitzgerald in the early 2000s. It is one of a few Australian companies to have its own in-house production facility and microbial laboratory and was the first in Australia to offer DNA barcoding.
