Branded apple offerings roll out to Australian shelves from May
Montague Farms has launched the 2025 seasons for its Envy and Yello apples with fruit hitting Australian stores from May.
The leading apple grower has harvested a strong crop of both apples and expects to pack more than 4,500 tonnes of Envy and 440 tonnes of Yello this year.
The Envy crop was picked from orchards in Stanthorpe, Queensland; Batlow New South Wales; the Yarra Valley, Victoria and the Huon Valley, Tasmania. Rowan Little, head of strategy and innovation of Montague Farms said ideal growing conditions had delivered quality fruit.
“We are seeing exceptional colour and quality this season. Ranging for Envy has increased since its inception in 2017, to meet growing demand for what is a phenomenally sweet apple,” said Little.
Montague Farms partnered with cookbook author & TV host Alice Zaslavsky and home cook and food creative Jessica Nguyen to highlight different ways consumers can use the apples in their cooking.
Yello is pitched as a pick-me-up snack and “the star of your next grazing platter” with its vibrant yellow skin. Envy is touted as an “entertainer’s apple” ideal for grazing platters, pairing with soft cheeses or shining in recipes.
