Current chair Joe Moro takes on the role as recruitment of new CEO commences

Queensland Fruit & Vegetable Growers (QFVG) has appointed its current chair, Joe Moro, as interim CEO as the organisation commences recruitment for its next CEO.

Moro will oversee the organisation’s strategic direction and key priorities until a permanent appointment is made. Supporting Moro will be chief finance & operating officer Tracy Artiach , who will manage day-to-day operational activities to ensure continuity across QFVG’s programs and services to members.

Moro said the arrangements provide stability and continuity during the leadership transition.

“We have a strong team and a clear direction. These arrangements will ensure we continue delivering for members and representing the interests of Queensland’s fruit, vegetable, and nut growers,” Moro said.

This announcement follows the resignation of QFVG CEO Rachel Chamber in September after she was appointed as the new Queensland Food Farmers’ Commissioner by the state government.

“On behalf of the board, I congratulate Rachel on her appointment. She leaves QFVG stronger and more future-focused. We thank her sincerely for her leadership and wish her every success in this important new role,” Moro said.

The recruitment process for QFVG’s next CEO is now underway, with the organisation looking forward to appointing a leader who will continue advancing the interests of Queensland’s horticulture industry.
