Demasi has given 25 years of service to South Australia’s fresh produce market

Angelo Demasi has informed the South Australian Produce Market (SAPML) board of his plans to stand down as CEO of the organisation, effective 30 June 2026.
The board extended its gratitude for Demasi’s 25 years of hard work and service, unwavering loyalty, and leadership. In an announcement, SAMPL Joanna Andrew said Demasi had guided the company through significant growth, major milestones, and transformative achievements during his tenure.
This included the development of a biosecurity post-harvest treatment facility, ensuring the long-term sustainability for the region and the market; sustained financial transformation, increasing revenue from A$5.2mn to A$22mn and EBITDA from A$1.67mn to A$8.4mn while maintaining disciplined gearing and balance sheet strength, as well as significant growth in share price and net asset value of SAPML
Demasi oversaw the construction of the largest solar microgrid in South Australia – reducing power prices and CO2 emissions – and A$55mn in new industrial warehousing, logistics, retail and precinct infrastructure developments.
He also worked on long-standing partnerships across the agricultural, logistics, and retail sectors, delivering excellent community fundraising outcomes and sustaining community engagement, among other achievements.
”These accomplishments stand as a testament to Angelo’s vision, dedication, and commitment to our mission and people. We are sincerely thankful for the positive, lasting impact he leaves behind,” said Andrew.
“We will soon share details regarding the leadership transition and next steps. In the meantime, please join us in thanking Angelo for his remarkable service and wishing him continued success in the future.”
