One of the sessions at this week's 3rd annual fruit and vegetable fair in Argentina is examining the possibilities for the fruit from a technical and marketing perspective.

The area around Buenos Aires is particularly well suited to the fruit's production and small commercial volumes of blueberries are already grown there. Also, the proximity of growing areas to international air freight links is an important boost to the quality of sendings.

Argentineans view Japan and the EU as important potential markets as the popularity of the fruit takes off in those markets. Their competitors are Chile, New Zealand, Australia and South Africa.
