Former Bonduelle executive brings 25 years of international experience to new role as company looks to strengthen its position in US market
Greenyard USA/Seald Sweet has named Andrea Montagna as its new co-chief executive officer, effective 1 July, as it looks to accelerate growth and innovation across its business in the US.
It described the introduction of a joint-CEO structure as an “exciting new chapter” in the company’s story, and part of a “thoughtful, long-term succession plan” designed to prepare Seald Sweet for future challenges and opportunities.
Montagna will serve alongside current CEO Mayda Sotomayor, combining their expertise to further strengthen the company’s position as a trusted leader in fresh produce, the group said. “I’m honoured to join Greenyard USA/Seald Sweet at such a pivotal time, and to partner with Mayda and the entire team in this next chapter of growth,” Montagna commented.
“We have a unique opportunity to build on the company’s heritage, strengthen our relationships with growers and customers, and drive strategic growth. Together, we will foster operational excellence and a strong culture of collaboration to lead the US market into its next era.” Sotomayor said the company was “thrilled” to welcome him. “His extensive experience and leadership will be invaluable as we continue our growth and innovation in the industry,” she said.

Most recently, he was president and CEO of Bonduelle Fresh Americas, where he led a major business reset focused on innovation and operational efficiency, and securing sustainability compliance.
Prior to that, he served as CEO of Bonduelle Italy, where it is understood he dramatically increased employee engagement and achieved double-digit profit growth.
