Peruvian company has shipped its first containers of Sekoya blueberries to China and expects 25 per cent export growth this season
Peruvian company Beta Agroindustrial Complex has started exporting blueberries to Asia, where it says demand for high-quality fruit continues to grow.
The group’s first container of Sekoya blueberries was shipped to China on 29 June, and a second container set sailed on 6 July from a newly established logistics centre at the Port of Chancay, which it said had cut distribution and shipping times significantly.
Last week, another supplier, Fruitist, completed its first shipment of Peruvian blueberries for the 2025/26 season to China from Chancay.
Beta said it had forecast a 25 per cent increase in its exports this season compared with the 2024/25 campaign.
As a result, it expects to send more than 30,000 tonnes to its main markets, which include Germany, China, the US, the Netherlands, and Spain.
Currently, Beta grows four blueberry varieties: Sekoya, Ventura, Mágica, and Madeira, at its facilities in Lambayeque and Ica.
The company said it promoted sustainable agricultural practices which allow it to offer fresh, high-quality products and meet demanding international standards.
