Fresh-cut supplier Blue Skies has been named Fresh Produce Business of the Year with its MD Anthony Pile picking up the Lifetime Achievement Award at this year’s FreshAwards.

Winners from across the fresh produce industry were announced last night at an awards ceremony at the Intercontinental Park Lane hotel in London.

Over 500 people attend the evening, which was hosted by actor and comedian Craig Charles and organised by the Fresh Produce Consortium (FPC).

FPC chief executive Nigel Jenney said: “All these winners and finalists are trailblazers for the industry, setting a high standard of excellence. Our industry should be proud of their achievements which are showcased by the FreshAwards.”

· Floral Supplier of the Year – GT Flowers

· Multiple Retailer of the Year – Aldi

· Convenience Retailer of the Year – Iceland

· Independent Retailer of the Year – The Fruit Market

· Best Place to Work – Blue Skies

· Marketing Campaign of the Year – Aldi

· CSR Excellence – Blue Skies

· Innovation of the Year – Total Produce Bristol
