Boris and Blue Skies

Blue Skies chairman Anthony Pile and foreign secretary Boris Johnson

Foreign secretary Boris Johnson has visited tropical fruit supplier Blue Skies at its Ghana site this month as part of a tour of west Africa.

Johnson spent just over an hour at the company where he went on a short tour of the factory and spoke with chairman Anthony Pile about the history of the company, its achievements and challenges.

He was accompanied by the British high commissioner, Jon Benjamin, UK trade envoy to Ghana, Adam Afriyie and Ghana’s Minister for Trade and Industry Alan Kyerematen.

Blue Skies employs around 4,000 people at its factory in Ghana, where it packs prepared fruit at source.
