Waitrose technical manager David Northcroft is to join cooperative Berry Gardens as the new technical director.
Northcroft replaces former technical director Adrian Wallbridge, who had been in the position for nine years and has now left the company.
Joining Berry Gardens after a longstanding career at Waitrose, Northcroft has held a range of technical and fresh produce category management roles at the premium retailer. Most recently he worked as varietal development and technical manager for soft fruit.
Berry Gardens MD Nick Marston said: “As technical and development director David is a welcome addition to the Berry Gardens team. From his time working at Waitrose and with us previously he is familiar with many of our growers and Driscolls varieties which I am sure will benefit us all.”
