cherries

A consignment of Chinese cherries, cultivated in the eastern Shandong province, has been exported to Taiwan, according to a report by China Daily.

After passing Taiwanese customs regulations, Chinese agriculture company Shengxing Fruit and Vegetable exported a total of 310kg of cherries.

This marks a landmark point in agriculture trade between the two countries as the first time that Taiwan has received exports of cherries from China.

Taiwan generally imports cherries from the US, Canada or Chile. This import from China represents realization of an agreement between the two countries on Chinese cherry access in Taiwan that was first secured in 2010.
