Japan’s exports of grapes and strawberries across Asia have increased off the back of growing demand for the country’s high quality premium produce, reports Nikkei.
Grape exports increased 50 per cent to ¥2.3bn in 2016 copmared to the year prior, while strawberries exports rose 35 per cent to ¥1.1bn.
Agricultural, forestry and fishery product exports grew 1 per cent from 2015 to ¥750bn (US$6.62bn) – the fourth year of growth for Japan’s agriculture exports despite Japan’s overall exports falling 7 per cent.
