T&G Global has celebrated 120 years in the business with its customers in Thailand.

Customers of the New Zealand-headquartered global business joined New Zealand Trade and Enterprise representatives and the New Zealand ambassador to Thailand, Ben King, at Hotel Indigo in Bangkok.

Formerly Turners & Growers, the company was established as a fruit auctioneer in 1897 and has expanded to an international vertically integrated fresh fruit and vegetable business.

T&G Global’s regional manager of South East Asia, Victor Anderson, said Thailand is an increasingly important market for the company.

“Thailand has exceeded our expectations in volume for kiwifruit, through our memorandum of understanding with Zespri, plus growth in table grapes,” Anderson said. “Our Jazz and Envy apples are also performing very well in this market.”

The 60 attendees at the event were also given a look at the new Jazz brand.

“Our refreshed Jazz branding is currently being rolled out globally as new season apples make their way into market,” said Sarah McCormack, T&G Global executive general manager international. “The feedback we have had so far has been very positive and we’re excited about our future in Thailand, and our other key markets.”
