Delegation reaches agreements with leading importers and distributors following a series of meetings
A delegation from Uzbekistan’s Ferghana region has visited Malaysia this January to develop bilateral trade opportunities for the country’s fruit and dried fruit market, according to a report by local publication Uzbek Media.

The delegation, which was led by the head of the regional Chamber of Commerce, Sherzod Yuldashev, met with leading Malaysian importers and distributors to discuss the supply of pomegranates, cherries, dried grapes, and apricots to the region.
According to Uzbek Media, Hoi Yong Fruits, one of Malaysia’s leading importers, expressed strong interest in Uzbek produce, particularly pomegranates which are in high demand locally.
The delegation also found success with Al Hijrah Global Sdn Bhd, one of the largest distributors of dates and dried fruits in Malaysia.
The visit, which culminated in agreements for the supply of raisins, dried apricots, pomegranates and dried and fresh cherries, is expected to expand export opportunities for Ferghana producers and strengthen the presence of Uzbek produce in the South-East Asia.
