South Africa's Afrifresh Group is supporting the community by investing in the education of disadvantaged children.

The organisation, which is now one of the Commonwealth nation's top three exporters, will buy school uniforms and new shoes for children in the townships of Cape Town.

Many of the youngsters are cared for by a lone parent – some of whom are unemployed and unable to clothe their children properly.

It is one of a group of projects that include funding for very bright township children to go to top Cape Town schools, and free breakfasts for pupils – many of whom walk seven miles to school without a meal inside them.
