Richard Brasher is to replace Tim Mason as Tesco’s new marketing boss, the retailer has announced.

Brasher, formerly commercial and trading director, joined Tesco in 1986 from RHM. He will continue with his current duties, while taking on Mason’s responsibilities. Mason has made a move abroad to look after the retailer’s US operations.

One of Brasher’s first tasks in the job will be to ensure the smooth transition of Tesco’s £45 million advertising account into Sir Frank Lowe’s new agency The Red Brick Road.
