Two-thirds of Brits are not eating the recommended five portions of fruit and veg a day, new research has shown.
Cancer Research UK carried out a survey across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland - and deemed the results a cause for concern.
The situation is worst in Northern Ireland where, according to the poll, 83 per cent are not getting their 5 A DAY. Scotland, the North and the Midlands also had a poor uptake.
But those in the South, East Anglia and Wales proved to have healthier eating habits.
Sara Hiom at Cancer Research UK said: “We know the food we eat has a big influence on our health. We should all be eating more fruit and veg.”
A quarter of all cancer deaths are thought to be caused by unhealthy diets and obesity.
