G's Group is gearing up for further expansion in eastern Europe with the purchase of a Polish production facility.

The facility, near Warsaw, produces 120ha of salad vegetables and will allow the company to push further into the Russian market, according to Adam Hill, business development and marketing manager at G's España.

G's already has growing operations in the UK, Spain, the Czech Republic, USA and Senegal, and the new site - which will be known as G's Poland - represents the company's first own-production in the country.

Spanish operations are also being bolstered by a multi-million pound investment in new reservoirs and related technology over the next two years, said Hill. The project sees G'sEspaña replicating the model employed by the company in other countries.

Meanwhile in the USA, sales of G's Love Beets brand is going from 'strength to strength', reported Anthony Gardiner, marketing director at G's Fresh, speaking at Fruit Logistica in Berlin. The company has opened a West Coast office just outside Fresno, giving the brand national distribution.

Sports performance drink PWR+ is also seeing good uptake in the UK, added Gardiner, with supply going to a number of rugby and football clubs, and a new listing secured with Holland & Barrett. There are plans to add further lines and, eventually, to move into mass-market retailers.
