Humber Quality Foods Ltd (HQF) has extended its prepared produce range with chunky cut carrots.
The line, unveiled at the Food & Drink Expo in Birmingham last week, is aimed at the foodservice sector through national suppliers and will be listed at one major multiple.
The single-sized portions of chunky carrots will be sold in 150g steam valve packs, as well as 2.5kg and 5kg packs for bulk cooking.
The launch coincides with the introduction of a frozen version of the Ready Steady Veg! range, as well as the addition of herb, seasoned and plain butters for selected packs.
Peter Sheriff, managing director of HQF, told freshinfo: “This new carrot makes a refreshing change to batons or sliced and diced; it’s more rustic. But we have lots of different vegetables for different customers, from Chantenay carrots with sliced leeks and broccoli to red peppers with broccoli and green peas, which now come in fresh and frozen formats, all in steam valve packs.”
