Irish soft-fruit grower Keelings has given away a brand new strawberry Mini Cooper to mark the fact that this year it has built a new 50,508sqm state-of-the-art strawberry glasshouse in North County Dublin.

The new glasshouse means Keelings can now produce more than 100 million strawberries for the Irish market, making the company the largest soft-fruit grower in Ireland, and meaning it will produce the earliest and latest strawberries in Ireland.

Keelings gave the strawberry Mini Cooper car to the lucky winner, mother-of-three Natasha Robinson from Sandymount in Dublin, as part of the Keelings strawberry Mini Cooper campaign, this week.

Robinson entered the competition while shopping at her local Tesco, not knowing the punnet of Keelings strawberries she bought would win her a new car. She was “over the moon” to win her prize, especially because she didn’t have a car before.

Caroline Keeling, Keelings Group managing director, said: “Our Keelings Strawberry Mini Cooper campaign has been a great success and we are very proud that we will continue to supply delicious Irish strawberries to consumers in Ireland until December.”

Keelings will now have Irish strawberries available to the Irish market from April through to December.
