Mandar revamps its herb offer

Rungis wholesale group Mandar is revamping some of its well known product range, mostly its fresh herbs offer.

From this week, the Suneat brand has been replaced by “Ceuillette du Sud” (Southern Harvest) and a new design of packaging has been launched. Product manager Alexandra Silvera told the Journal: “We understood the Suneat brand lacked visibility on the shelves and that it had failed to gain the desired consumer recognition.

“We plan to emphasise more heavily on promoting our company and our savoir-faire. After 10 years, we decided it had become necessary to reposition the product to optimise the performance.”

Group Mandar’s facility in Rungis now hosts a dedicated laboratory, as it “wants to develop the aromatic axis of the business.”

Another major development had already been announced at Sial.

Group Mandar has teamed up with famous Guadeloupe melons Philibon to source fresh-cut bowls.

The Rungis wholesaler will be supplied by the Boyer Company (brand owner), with obvious benefits - Mandar can profit from a well established consumer brand and Boyer will introduce its product into the processed fruit world.
