Company is looking to move from start-up to scale-up phase

Fieldwork Robotics has appointed Michelle Collis as chief financial officer at a time when it is accelerating its international expansion plans.
Collis has over 20 years’ experience working as a financial officer in the startup space for the last 10 years, supporting high-growth, venture-backed businesses through rapid scale, fundraising, IPOs and exits.
With expertise across the technology and biotechnology sectors, Fieldwork notes that she has worked with organisations ranging from early-stage ventures to global corporates, generating revenues exceeding $2 billion.
Her experience includes positions at Tozaro, a biotechnology company, as well as for Biocair, a global GDP logistics specialist.
Collis has supported a wide range of transactions, including fundraises, M&A, as well as a record-breaking IPO for one of the largest biotech firms in Cambridge.
Fieldwork said Collis’ expertise will be central as the company accelerates its commercialisation strategy and international expansion. In her role as CFO, she will support Fieldwork’s transition from start-up to scale-up, prepare the business for future investment, new funding rounds, and engage with strategic and institutional investors as the firm strengthens its global market presence.
Collis’ appointment is the second senior leadership addition in Fieldwork’s ongoing strategy to ”expand its executive team with world-class industry expertise”. Agri-tech industry leader Seth Crawford was recently appointed chair, while Sid Shaikh joined the business as chief technology officer.
David Fulton, CEO of Fieldwork Robotics, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Michelle to Fieldwork at such a pivotal time in our development. As the business moves into its scale-up phase and we see growing adoption of our technology on farms, having a CFO with Michelle’s experience in high-growth, venture-backed companies is invaluable.
“As we expand internationally and deepen our partnerships with growers, her expertise in fundraising and financial strategy will ensure we have the right foundations in place to support sustainable, long-term growth.”
Collis added: “Fieldwork is leading a step-change in agricultural automation. The team has developed pioneering technology that addresses a clear and urgent global need, and I’m excited to support the company through its next phase of growth.
”With the sector’s growing demand for automation and a compelling commercial opportunity, this is an exciting and pivotal time to join Fieldwork. I look forward to working with the team to scale the business internationally and help to deliver long-term value for growers.”
