Sainsbury’s expects to have watercress back on shelf shortly after withdrawing the line as a precaution against E. coli.
The retailer said: “We have done extensive testing and no trace of contamination has been found in our products by us or the Food Standards Agency. We’re also making provisions to get the product back on shelf.”
Supplier Vitacress had already stressed it had found no evidence of contamination. The scare began after the FSA investigated possible reasons for people falling ill.
