The Environment Agency has begun its search for contenders for this year’s Water Efficiency Awards.

The awards recognise, those who are helping to conserve water resources through water efficiency activities. The NFU sponsored agriculture and horticulture category provides an opportunity for farms and nurseries of all sizes to demonstrate what action they are taking.

Entrants will need to show how efficient planning of water use on the farm or holding has led to long-term savings. Judges will want to know details of how much water has been saved and what plans are in place to deliver future improvements.

Ian Baker, head of resources at the Environment Agency, said: “These awards provide organisations with the opportunity to showcase the excellent work that is being done across the country.”
