Select Lincolnshire hopes to roll out its brand to the rest of the country in order to stay on top of its game.

Chairman of the Lincolnshire Forum for Agriculture and Horticulture, Mark Tinsley, told delegates at the 2009 Select Lincolnshire Conference last week that the future was in Select Lincolnshire members’ hands and urged further support for the brand.

“We need to look for further routes into the marketplace and need to be more diverse,” he said. “A diverse outlook on the routes into market is going to be crucial to the future success of the brand.

“We are number one for a lot of produce in this country, such as potatoes, and we have an extraordinary number of lorries on our roads delivering our produce all over the country. We need to extend the brand and promote the fact that people are eating our produce all over the UK. We are not making the most of our branding and missing opportunities. We have to work with one another to get our message out there,” he added.

Select Lincolnshire and Tastes of Lincolnshire will once again be at the Restaurant Show at ExCeL, London, which will be held on October 12-14 this year. Select Lincolnshire ambassador and celebrity chef Rachel Green will be promoting the county’s produce on the Select Lincolnshire stand.
